The 2012 budget schedule

During last week's Unified Government Board of Commissioners meeting, the meeting schedule and timeline for the 2012 budget was announced.

All meetings are open to the public. I'll post times when they are available.

Here are the dates:

• July 12 - The budget will be presented at City Hall.

• July 16-26 - A handful of budget workshops with the UG commissioners will be held. Workshops can be added or subtracted during the process.

• July 30 - A final public hearing will be held on the budget.

• August 2 - The date the budget must be adopted by.
