Alcott Arts Center fundraiser to offer close-up of Joplin tornado experience

The Alcott Arts Center will be hosting an event tonight that will offer a glimpse of last year's Joplin tornado.

News crews from Fox 4 News in Kansas City will be on hand to speak about the tornado and what it was like to report on the event last year.

Proceeds from the event - a $5 donation is suggested - will be donated to both the Joplin disaster fund and the Alcott Arts Center.

The event begins at 6 p.m. tonight at the center, located at 180 S. 18th Street, Kansas City, Kan.

Alcott will be teaming up with FOX4KC to bring captivating images, video's and conversation of the traumatic Tornado’s devastation in Joplin, Mo., last year.

This will be a fundraiser for the Joplin disaster relief fund and the Alcott Arts Center. There will be a $5 suggested donation at the door.

You will be able to meet and talk to the photo journalists and even have the chance to buy some of their art!

All sales will be split between the Not for Profits and the Artists. There will be food and great people to talk to.

Come and support these great causes and get a first hand account of the extreme conditions brought about after the huge Tornado’s.

Those Exhibiting are: Matt Hensley, Rachel Coleman, Sarah Thacker, Abby Eden, Sarah Clark, Eric Burke.
