The four public school districts in Wyandotte County will be seeing an increase of funding for next school year's budget.

Wyandotte County school districts will receive a combined $2.5 million for next year's budget, according to The Kansas City Star.

With the $60 increase in the base state aid per pupil formula, the Kansas City, Kan., Public Schools District will be the big winner in Wyandotte County.

The school district is expected to receive an additional $1.8 million in funding this year.

On a related school budget note, a proposal that would have allowed Piper and Bonner Springs to raise local taxes to fund athletics and other activities was not passed.
