Anderson’s mastery of Grand Prairie continues

By BRIAN BRUCE, tbonesbaseball.com

Lefty Devin Anderson threw 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball as Kansas City blanked Grand Prairie, 7-0, on Monday night and split a four-game series at QuikTrip Park.

Anderson (4-5), who had pitched six shutout frames in an 8-0 T-Bones win at Grand Prairie on May 24th, continued his mastery of the AirHogs.

His final line included only four hits and three strikeouts as he dropped his ERA to 3.70. Anderson has now thrown 12 2/3 shutout innings at Grand Prairie in two outings this season.

The T-Bones offense also clicked on Monday night, as they jumped on AirHogs starter Will Irvin (1-2) in the second inning. KC scored five runs on five hits, including RBI singles by Enrique Cruz, Devin Goodwin, and Justin Bass.

Cruz hit a leadoff homer to left in the fourth, his fourth, making the score 6-0. The T-Bones tacked on the final run against left-handed reliever Cody White in the fifth on an RBI double to center by Lee Cruz, who has now accumulated 13 RBIs in just 61 at-bats for KC.

The series-ending victory gives KC a split and improves its overall mark to 34-29.

The T-Bones return home on Tuesday night for a nine-game homestand, beginning with three against the St. Paul Saints. First pitch at CommunityAmerica Ballpark is scheduled for 7:05.
