KCK man charged with counterfeiting bills in Wichita

U.S. Department of Justice

Michael L. Griffith, 57, Kansas City, Kan., is charged with passing counterfeit $50 bills.

The crime is alleged to have occurred June 11, 2012, in Wichita.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. The U.S. Secret Service investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Metzger is prosecuting.

He's presumed innocent until proven guilty.
