The Boys and Girls Club of Wyandotte County was one of the big winners from Monday’s Home Run Derby at Kauffman Stadium.
Krista Primers, a sophomore at Sumner Academy, earned $10,000 for the club in the competition sponsored by State Farm. Primers was paired with Mark Trumbo of the California Angels as each of the Home Run contestants was represented by a Boys and Girls Club member with Primers.
Prince Fielder of the Detroit Tigers won the Home Run Derby and earned $50,000 for the club he represented while each of the other seven clubs received $10,000 each.
