The Board of Public Utilities will no longer be charging customers if they choose to pay their bill online or over the telephone.
Customers were previously charged a $3 fee for paying their bills online or by an automated telephone service.
Those interested can make payments to BPU at www.bpu.com anytime during the week.
Rate-users interested in paying their bills by phone can call 1-855-BPU BILL (278-2455). Credit card payments or electronic payments using a banking account can be made.
Payments made before 1 p.m. will be posted during the day of the payment; payments made after 1 p.m. will be posted the following business day.
