KCK School Foundation for Excellence to host electronic recycling event

News Release:
The Kansas City Kansas School Foundation for Excellence can help you get rid of the electronic mess on August 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Public School offices at 2010 N. 59th Street in KCK.

The Foundation has teamed up with Vintage Tech Recyclers to provide a certified recycling solution for this event. Vintage Tech is an R2, ISO 14001, and e-Stewards certified company that has partnered with several counties and communities throughout the state of Kansas and Missouri to allow residents to drop off electronics for responsible recycling

Vintage Tech ensures all customers that all electronics are properly handled and recycled and all hard drives are protected using NIST 800-88 compliant software wiping.

The electronics recycling event will be held from 8am-1pm at the Kansas City Public Schools Office at 2010 N. 59th Street, Kansas City, KS 66104.  Residents are encouraged to stay in their vehicles as Vintage Tech personnel assist in unloading material.

Electronics Items excluding Televisions are to be accepted at no charge.  Fee's for recycling Televisions include $15.00 for Tube Televisions and $25.00 for Wooden Console and DLP-Rear Projection TV's.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Foundation for Excellence.

Computers, Laptops, Monitors, LCD's, Cell Phones, Printers, Scanners, Modems, CD drives, Cables, Keyboards, Mice, TV's, VCR's, DVD players, Camcorders, Cameras, Game Players and joysticks; Telephones, Pagers, Answering Machines, Typewriters, Calculators, adding machines, Fax machines, Copiers and Postage meters, Vacuum Cleaners, Toaster Ovens, Microwaves.

Non-Accepted Items Include:
Lightbulbs, Mercury Containing Devices, Alkaline Batteries, Fluorescents, Household Chemicals, Toys, Books, Paint.
