KCKPD investigating Saturday morning homicide: Two dead, two more wounded

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 3000 Block of North 16th Street.

Officers responded to a call after shots were fired in the area at around 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning.

Two gunshot victims were found dead by officers at the scene.

In addition, one person was apprehended after being arrested by the department in Riverside, Mo. Officers initially confronted the individual near the scene of the crime after they spotted the person firing shots with a gun.

The arrested individual is considered a "person of interest" by the KCKFD at this time, was arrested without incident.

No information is available on the identity of both the victims and the person of interest at this time.

Along with the two homicide victims, officers also discovered two additional individuals were shot. They are currently in local hospitals recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

While the KCKPD arrested one, police are still asking the community for help and information on this case.
