Maywood Community Church Bazaar set for Saturday, Oct. 13

A tradition for more than 75 years, the annual Maywood Community Church Bazaar will be held Saturday, Oct. 13.

A fund-raiser by the Maywood Ladies Council for local missions, the bazaar will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Maywood Community Church immediately west of The Legends at 11201 Parallel Parkway.

Lunch menu items will include homemade vegetable beef soup, chili, hot dogs and nachos.

The bazaar will also feature a wide variety of bargain items including hand-crafted wood items, antiques, jewelry, linens, pots and pans, furniture items, tools and seasonal items.

In addition there will be a silent auction and raffle.

Items will include antiques, hand-made quilts, dessert of the month and sports memorabilia including a ‘Self for President’ T-shirt autographed by Kansas basketball coach Bill Self; the book, “Warpaths: An Illustrated History of the Kansas City Chiefs,” signed by four Chiefs’ Hall of Famers including Len Dawson; and a baseball autographed by eight Kansas City Royals Hall of Famers including Frank White and Amos Otis.
