KCKCC to offer Zumba II fitness classes October 15

Zumba II, a Latin-inspired dance fitness class designed for students who have previously participated in Zumba, will be offered this fall at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 15, the class will be offered Mondays and Thursdays for five weeks with participants offered the option of taking it either once or twice a week.

The cost for both Monday and Thursday sessions for five weeks is $55. However, persons can take the class for just one day a week, either Monday or Thursday, for $30.

Instructed by Shari Augustine, classes will be held from 6-7 p.m. in Room 2906 of the Allied Health Building on the east side of the KCKCC campus at 7250 State Avenue.

Zumba II is a fast-paced, high energy dance with less instruction on steps and fewer breaks in moving from one routine to another.

A cardio-based workout integrating interval and resistance training to tone the entire body, the class incorporates many dance styles including meringue, cumbia, salsa, reggaeton and more.

With easy-to-follow steps, the music and party-like atmosphere, exercising is made fun and enjoyable.

Persons can register by phone with credit card payment at 913-288-7660; in person in the Community Education Building on the east side of the campus’ or on-line at www.kckcc.edu and clicking on Continuing Education and 2012 Fall Schedule.

The class is listed under Community Education/Health and Fitness.
