Salvation Army looking for bell ringers

News Release

Looking to make some extra money this Christmas season and have fun at the same time?

The Salvation Army is currently hiring seasonal bell ringers to assist with its 2012 Christmas Red Kettle Campaign, which runs November 9 through December 24 every day except Thanksgiving and Sundays.

All day parts are available at more than 250 locations across the Kansas City metropolitan area between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm. Applicants must be able to stand for extended periods of time and endure weather extremes. The pay scale for bell ringers is $7.25 to $8.00 per hour.

“Many of our paid bell ringers are folks trying to make ends meet in a tough economy, but they also feel good about doing something to help others,” said Major Charles Smith, divisional commander of The Salvation Army in Kansas City. “They know their work will help us provide food, clothing and shelter to people in need in the community.”
