No cash, no problem for Salavation Army donation process in 2012

The Salvation Army is offering an easier to donate money this holiday season

The Season Pass debuted in Kansas City last year. This year, there are three different buttons, available for a one-time donation of $20, $50 or $100.

The buttons can be purchased online at www.seasonpass.salvationarmy.us.

A $1.10 shipping and handling charge will be applied for each button purchased. Buttons may also be purchased  at The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters, located at 3637 Broadway, Kansas City, MO., 64111.

“We’re always looking for new ways to make it more convenient for people to donate and help their community,” said Major Charles Smith, divisional commander of The Salvation Army in Kansas City.  “While many people still enjoy the tradition of putting money in our red kettles each Christmas, we are becoming more of a cashless society. The Season Pass button is an easy way for people to help the needy in our community with a one-time transaction.”

The Salvation Army has been helping people in crisis in Kansas City for more than 125 years.

Donations during the Christmas season support many Salvation Army programs and services including food assistance, emergency rent and utility assistance, affordable day care for children of low income families, a children’s shelter for abused and neglected children, alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs, senior programs and visitation, homeless shelters and transitional housing and prison correctional programs.
