Wyandotte County Panthers look to win Texas championship

By DAVID BROX, KCKPreps.com

The Wyandotte County Panthers third and fourth grade teams coached by Justin Fountain, Vernie Stewart and Randy Spears has had a tremendous run over the past three years.

The Wyandotte County Panthers third and fourth grader team ended with a perfect football season record of 14-0.

The Panthers scored a total of 350 points throughout the season and held their opponents to 48 points.

The Panthers won championship titles in several area tournaments, including the 2012 FCCJC Kick-Off Classic, the 2012 FCCJC Mid States Tournament of Champions Tournament, the 2012 AYF Central Midwest Conference Regional Tournament Championship, and the 2012 Fourth Grade Blue Valley Football Club League Championship.

On Nov. 29, the third and fourth graders will travel to Desoto, Texas with aspirations to add one more title to their list -- the 2012 Texas Longhorn National Youth Football Tournament.

This will be the first time the team competes outside of the Kansas or Missouri area.

The third and fourth grade team consists of players from low-income families across the greater Metropolitan area.

Players work to maintain high standards of respect both on the field and in the classroom.
