Former Washington student graduates from basic military training

Air Force Reserve Airman Michael Westbrook graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Westbrook is the son of Alma Westbrook of Waverly Court, Kansas City.

He is a 2011 graduate of Washington High School, Kansas City.
