10-week quilting course to begin Feb. 7

Kansas City Kansas Community College will offer a 10-week course in Quilting beginning Thursday, Feb. 7.

Classes will meet each Thursday from 6-9 p.m. in the Community Education Building on the east side of the KCKCC campus at 7250 State Avenue. The classes will run through April 25 although no class will be held March 21.

Under the tutelage of Amber Smith, participants will learn the basics of quilt making including rotary cutting, machine piecing and binding and then complete a quilt top.

The pattern to be used during the course will be presented the first week of class. Materials and supplies will be purchased after the first class. Participants should have basic sewing knowledge.
