Advance voting continues in Wyandotte County; turnout low so far

Advance voting for the General Election on April 2nd, 2013 has begun.  All registered voters are eligible to vote in advance by mail or in-person.

To date, 3,319 ballots have been mailed and 680 have been returned.  The deadline to apply for an advance ballot by mail is Thursday, March 28.  The deadline would normally be on Friday, March 29, but that day is a designated holiday and the Wyandotte County Election Office will be closed.

Advance voting at the Election Office began Tuesday, March 19.  To date, just 65 voters have voted. Advance voting continues 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.  The Election Office will be closed on Friday March 29.  Advance voting ends at noon on Monday, April 1.

Registered voters may vote at their designated polling place. The Election Office is not a polling place on Election Day.

The long-range forecast currently shows weather will be good on Election Day.
