Fire causes $30K worth of damage, investigation underway

The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department is investigating a fire from this morning.

Kansas City, Kan., firefighters responded to the scene of the fire - 2720 N. Early - at around midnight.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire; no one was injured. The fire caused about $30,000 worth of damage.

Full statement from the KCK Fire Department:
Crews were on the scene within four minutes and reported heavy and smoke coming from a one story wood framed residential structure. Primary and secondary searches determined no one was in the structure. Fire was under control within 25 minutes. BPU called to shut off utilities. Fire Investigator responded to scene. Estimated damage to structure and contents $30,000. Fire is under investigation. No injuries reported.
