Public meeting to be held for State Avenue Corridor project

News Release:
In an effort to gather additional public input, the Mid-America Regional Council and the Unified Government have funded a third State Avenue Corridor public meeting on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Kansas City, Kansas Chamber of Commerce located at 727 Minnesota Ave., in KCK.

"This is groundbreaking planning work!  Our grant enabled us to do predevelopment work such as site plans, initial proforma analysis, market research and other graphics on several sites within the corridor in hopes of encouraging high quality transit oriented development in Kansas City, Kansas," says the Director of Planning and Zoning for the Unified Government, Rob Richardson. "We are excited to share this work with the public and get feedback."

This will be the last public meeting before the ideas and input are presented to the Planning Commission. We hope that you can join us in this effort by attending and encouraging your family and friends to do so as well! We want to hear your ideas about how to make State Avenue a more vibrant and livable part of the community.

For more information contact Tyler Means, Project Manager, MARC at 816-701-8261 or tmeans@marc.org.

The State Ave. project is a partnership between the UG and MARC to revitalize the corridor into a more vibrant, green and connected street. The project is a site specific implementation of the KCK Master Plan.
