Piper graduate to perform in college play

Addison Morgan, Kansas City, Kan., native, will perform the part of Gretchen in the Morningside College production of “Rapunzel” at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, in Klinger-Neal Theatre, 3700 Peters Ave.

Morgan is a 2012 graduate of Piper High School.

“Rapunzel” tells the story of a girl with long golden hair who is locked in a tower by a sorceress. The storyline is featured in movies such as “Tangled” and “Shrek.”

The Morningside College production is based on the 1812 version of the Grimm Brothers fairy tale.

Seats for the weekend performances are $5 general admission and will be sold at the door starting one hour prior to each show. There also will be special weekday performances Monday, April 22, through Thursday, April 25, for area preschools and grade schools.

Morningside College is a small, private college in Sioux City, Iowa, that offers students the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree in a variety of disciplines, or a master’s degree in education.
