Program fee waived for May Mental Health First Aid training

In observance of May as Mental Health Month, Wyandot Center and PACES are waiving the $40 registration fee for the May 8 and 9 Mental Health First Aid training.

This program is designed to help participants recognize signs and symptoms of a mental illness, and know what to do in a mental health crisis to help a family member, friend or person you encounter.

Wyandot Center and PACES will offer the free training on Wednesday and Thursday, May 8 and 9, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day with time for breaks and lunch.

The 12-hour program will be held at Wyandot Center’s 1301 North 47th Street facility, Kansas City, Kan., and is open to the community. Register by emailing Beth Yoder Stein at yoderstein_b@wmhci.org, or contact her for more information at 913-328-4633.

Wyandot Center is Wyandotte County’s designated community mental health center serving adults; PACES provides services for children and adolescents facing behavioral and emotional challenges, and their families.
