Kansas City Kansas Community College will be teaming with Johnson County and Metropolitan community colleges to offer training solutions designed specifically for the supply chain, logistics and distribution fields.
Beginning this fall, public open-enrollment workshops will be offered through a partnership through the three institutions.
“Workshops are targeted to the skills needed by new-hire and entry-level distribution center workers, up to mid-level and more senior level professionals,” says Tony Lacy, JCCC program director.
New hire and entry level courses include Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) and Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certifications. Both are credentials from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC).
Mid- to senior-level courses will be offered in Inventory Control and Record Accuracy, Introduction to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), International Supply Chain Risk Management and Supply Chain Performance Measurement as well as APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Exam Preparation.
More senior level topics include an end-to-end simulation called “LINKS: The Supply Chain Experience” and Sales and Operations Planning (S & OP).
At the Supply Chain Luncheon Series, participants can ask questions of supply chain experts.
In addition, KCKCC offers a wide range of training classes for business and communication skills, customer service, HR compliance, and other training needed for managers and all employees at all levels.
More information contact on those programs can be obtained by contacting KCKCC Workforce Coordinator Jay Matlack at jmatlack@kckcc.edu.
