Mair, Batliner receive most prestigious KCKCC awards

Jim Mair and Jackie Batliner are the recipients of Kansas City Kansas Community College most prestigious awards for 2013.

The Director of Instrumental Jazz Music, Mair received the Henry Louis Excellence in Education Award given annually to a member of the KCKCC faculty while Batliner, a secretary in Adult and Community Education, was named Outstanding Staff Employee.

Other honorees included Jay Matlack, Coordinator of Workforce Development, who was presented the Personal Innovative Technology Award (PITA), and Joyce Dobson and Diana Goldbeck, winners of the Supportive Team Effort at KCKCC (STEAK) award.

The awards were announced at the College’s annual Recognition Dinner which drew a record 250 at Lake Quivira Country Club. Also recognized were three upcoming retirees, Loretta Bates, Dr. Ben Hayes and Alan Hoskins.
