Irvine throws shutout; helps halt KC losing streak

FARGO, N.D. – After Kansas City took an early lead, Lucas Irvine took over and went the distance in a 4-0 win over Fargo-Moorhead on Sunday afternoon, ending the T-Bones’ six-game losing streak.

The T-Bones scored twice in the first inning when Matt Padgett drove in Felix Molina, and then Nathan Ramler drove in Jairo Perez. In the second inning Trevor Coleman added his second home run of the season, which gave Kansas City its 50th of the season and put the T-Bones ahead, 3-0.

That was more than Irvine (2-3) would need. Irvine, whose other win was a complete-game performance against Lincoln two weeks ago, allowed only four hits, with no walks and five strikeouts.

Fargo’s Paul Burnside (3-5) allowed all four runs, as the RedHawks saw their five-game winning streak snapped.

Kansas City (16-27), which ended its longest losing streak of the season, is off Monday before starting a four-game homestand against Sioux Falls on Tuesday night at 7:05.
