KCKFD discover body in Kaw River

KANSAS CITY, KAN. --- In a potential update to the story this weekend, the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department discovered a dead body in the Kaw River.

Law enforcement is unsure if the body is of the victim that drowned this weekend in Edwardsville, Kan.

Full statement from Craig Duke of the KCK Fire Department:
Special Operation Boat Crews responded to the Kaw River in the area of 88th and Kaw Drive on the reports of a body in the water. Boats crews located a male victim. Edwardsville Police Detectives have not identified the victim as the individual who was the subject of a water search on the Kaw River from Saturday evening at the location of I 435 and Woodend.
