KANSAS CITY, KAN. --- The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department is investigating a fire from early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters raced out to a fire at 2314 N. 5th Street just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday morning.  It caused about $30,000 worth of damage to the home, but no one was injured.

Two adults were in the home, but evacuated after the smoke detectors in the home went off.

"Crews performed a primary and secondary search to confirm all occupants were out of the structure," said Craig Duke, KCK Fire Department Deputy Chief. "BPU was called to shut off utilities to structure. Fire had spread to the attic of the structure. Crews had fire totally under control within 30 minutes."

The fire remains under investigation by the KCKFD.
