The advisory began at 3 p.m. today and will expire at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
Dangerous temperatures will be entering the Kansas City metro area this weekend.
The National Weather Service is predicting a high temperature of 99 degrees on Friday and 99 degrees on Saturday. Temperatures will dip on Sunday.
On Labor Day, temperatures are expected to drop back into the 80's.
