Kansas City Business Journal: Wyandotte County on pace for $1 billion development year

KANSAS CITY, KAN. --- While the economy continues to lag nation-wide, Wyandotte County continues to be a hot-bed for economic development.

The Kansas City Business Journal reports that Wyandotte County could see a $1 billion development record in 2013.

Key bit:

A $600 million chunk of that came with the announcement early this year that GM would expand and retool its Fairfax plant. Another $128 million came with the announcement of a $128 milion expansion by PQ Corp.
