KCK teenager charged with murder

KANSAS CITY, KAN. --- A 15-year-old was charged with one count of first-degree murder this afternoon in Kansas City, Kan.

Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome Gorman charged Lamont A. Ford with one count of premeditated murder in the first degree.

Ford is in custody and will appear in juvenile court later Wednesday afternoon.

Ford was arrested Monday by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department in connection to the shooting death of Nola Pierce, who was shot and killed on the 1200 Block of Everett in downtown KCK. Pierce was killed on July 25.

He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
