Wyandot Center, PACES to offer Mental Health First Aid training

Are you ready to help in a mental health crisis?

Mental Health First Aid training is designed to help you recognize signs and symptoms of a mental illness, and know what to do in a mental health crisis to help a family member, friend or person.

Wyandot Center and PACES will offer our next Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training on Tuesdays, Sept. 3 and 10, 8 a.m. to noon each day with time for breaks and lunch. The curriculum has been reformatted to eight hours (from the original 12-hour session).

The training will be held at Wyandot Center’s 1301 North 47th Street facility, Kansas City, Kansas, and is open to the community. There is a $40 fee per each participant. Register by emailing Beth Yoder Stein at yoderstein_b@wmhci.org, or contact her for more information at 913-328-4633.

Wyandot Center is Wyandotte County’s designated community mental health center serving adults; PACES provides services for children and adolescents facing behavioral and emotional challenges, and their families.
