Kansas City Kansas Community College made quick work of its Jayhawk Conference opener Wednesday night, sweeping Highland 25-16, 25-16, 25-13 in a match that took just 65 minutes.

“We’re starting to get things together, working things out,” said head coach Mary Bruno. “We got a regional win over Hesston last week and now a conference win. We just need to keep getting better.”

The win evened the Blue Devils’ record at 3-3 as they head into the Highland tournament this weekend where they’ll play at 5 and 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
