KCK Fire Department investigating suspicious fire

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department is investigating a "suspicious" fire that happened Monday shortly before noon.

Firefighters responded to a fire at a two-story home at 3108 Stewart Ave. Monday at 11:45 a.m.

When arriving, they found the fire coming from the front of the house.

"The fire was contained to front room area," said Kevin Shirley. "Residents were not at home at the time of the fire.  Investigator was called to the scene.  The fire is considered suspicious and under investigation."

No one was hurt in the fire, though it did cause $7,000 worth of property and content damage to the home.
