Kelly Rogge named new KCKCC Public Information Supervisor

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- A veteran of more than 10 years as an educational writer for The Examiner newspaper in Independence, Mo., Kelly Rogge is the new Public Information Supervisor at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Rogge succeeds Alan Hoskins, who retired after 30 years in the position in May and now is the College’s Sports Information Director on a part-time basis.

A 1996 graduate of Emporia High School where she was a member of the student newspaper staff, Rogge was also a member of the concert and marching band and active in Girl Scouts. She was also active in student publications and a member of the Wildcat marching and concert bands while earning a BA in Journalism from Kansas State University in 2000.

She began her newspaper career at The Examiner in the fall of 2000, first as city government reporter for the Blue Springs Examiner before becoming The Examiner’s education reporter in 2002.

Married in August of 2000, she and her husband, Jeremy, an accountant with Kessinger-Hunter, have a 5-year-old daughter, Lauren, who is a kindergarten student at Blue Hills Elementary in the Fort Osage School District.
