Sporting KC home playoff match set for Nov. 6

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Sporting Kansas City will host the New England Revolution at 8 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Sporting Park in the second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the club announced tonight. Tickets are currently available to purchase via Ticketmaster.com.

Sporting Kansas City, the second seed in the East, begins the series at 7 p.m. CT this Saturday at Gillette Stadium. Both matches will air live on KSMO-TV locally.

Saturday's match will be regionally televised on KMTW (Wichita, Kan.), WIBW (Topeka, Kan.) and MC22 (check local listings) as well as nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Gran D 1340 AM (Spanish) will also broadcast Saturday's game live for listening audiences.

The Boulevard Members Club at Sporting Park will host the team's official watch party on Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m. CT and parking is available in Lot D. The event is free and open to the public.

Sporting Kansas City will compete in the MLS Cup Playoffs for the 12th time in the team's 18-year history and third straight season. Sporting Kansas City is 23-13-11 all-time against New England and is unbeaten in the team's last six matches with the Revolution. The teams, both charter members of Major League Soccer, have never met in the postseason.

The Revolution -- unbeaten in their last six MLS matches -- reach the playoffs for the 11th time in club history and first time since 2009. Veteran goalkeeper Matt Reis has returned to start nine of the team's last 10 matches and boasts a 0.72 goals against average in 2013. Offensively, 18-year-old forward Diego Fagundez leads the club with 13 goals and 20-year-old forward Juan Agudelo has nine goals to his name this season.

The 2013 MLS Cup Playoffs begin on Wednesday with the Western Conference Knockout Round match between the Colorado Rapids and Seattle Sounders at 9:30 p.m. CT on the NBC Sports Network.
