Sporting KC advances to Conference Championship

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Sporting Kansas City defeated the New England Revolution 3-1 tonight after extra time to win the Eastern Conference Semifinals 4-3 on aggregate.

The team will travel to play the Houston Dynamo at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium live on NBC. Supporters are encouraged to visit SportingKC.com for away ticket information.

This will mark the third consecutive year that Sporting KC will face Houston in the MLS Cup playoffs. Sporting KC now holds home field advantage for the remainder of the team's playoff run, presented by Ivy Funds, with the return leg to be played at Sporting Park on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The team with the most aggregate goals scored over the two-game series will advance to MLS Cup 2013 on Saturday, Dec. 7. Should Sporting Kansas City reach MLS Cup, the championship match would be played at Sporting Park.
