KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- The Kansas City metro has become a bit of a "ground zero" for Internet service competition after Google Fiber was launched in Kansas City, Kan., and then Kansas City, Mo.

And today, there's been another development on that front.

Time Warner Cable today introduced a new Internet service program.

Called the "Everyday Low Price Internet" option, customers can purchase the option for $14.99 a month.

According to Time Warner, ELP Internet will offer download speeds up to 2 Megabits per second and upload speeds up to 1 Megabit per second.

“We’re confident that customers looking for a quality online connection for casual use will find that our Everyday Low Price Internet provides by far the best experience at the best value.” said Time Warner Cable Area Vice President of Operations Perry Watson.
