14-year-old Overland Park resident charged with involuntary manslaughter for KCK car accident

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- A teenager from Overland Park, Kan., has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection to a car accident that happened in Kansas City, Kan.

Jummon Rahaman was charged in connection to the accident that claimed the live of Casey Knight. The October 7 car accident happened in the area of S. 12th Street and Dodson in KCK.

He's also been charged with aggravated battery and felony theft.

Rahaman is currently in juvenile detention in Wyandotte County. His arraignment hearing will take place early next year. He is 14 years old.

Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome A. Gorman today charged Jummon Rahaman, Overland Park, Kansas, DOB: 07-04-99, in the juvenile department of the district court, with Involuntary Manslaughter in connection with the October 7, 2013, death of Casey Knight, which occurred as the result of an vehicle crash in the vicinity of South 12th Street and Dodson in Kansas City, Kansas.

Rahaman was also charged with Aggravated Battery for the injury to another individual in the wreck, and with Felony Theft, for exerting unauthorized control over a vehicle involved in the wreck.

Rahaman had previously been charged with Theft in the case. He is currently in juvenile detention. An arraignment hearing is set January 8, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. in  division 15 of the district court.
