Downtown YMCA back on the UG agenda

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Unified Government commissioners will vote tonight on a resolution that would provide $75,000 worth of funding to keep the 8th Street YMCA in operation for an additional 12 months.

The agreement that will be voted on has the UG paying the YMCA $6,250 a month to keep the facility open. That figure is $3,750 less than the original $10,000 monthly tab agreed to last year.

If commissioners agree to provide funding, the dollars would come from casino grant money.
