KCK Fire Department issues new burning ban

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department is banning all open burning as a result of today's weather.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG WARNING FOR THE METROPOLITAN AREA UNTIL 1900 HOURS. WIND GUSTS OF 40 MPH ARE EXPECTED. THE KANSAS CITY KANSAS FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS PLACED A BAN ON ALL OPEN BURNING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. RESIDENTS WITH PERMITS FOR TODAY MUST REFRAIN FROM OPEN BURNING.

RESIDENTS ARE ALSO ASKED TO USE CAUTION WHEN USING OUTDOOR BBQ EQUIPMENT.
