KCKCC women's basketball program signs two 1,000-point scorers

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Two 1,000-point high school scorers will be joining the women’s basketball team at Kansas City Kansas Community College this fall.

Cheyenne North, a 5-11 forward from Camp Station High School in Gallatin, Tenn., and Audriana Christopher, a 5-6 guard from Scott County High School in Georgetown, Kent., are the latest additions to the 2014-15 Lady Blue Devil squad.

Ranked the 10th best player in Tennessee her senior year, North originally signed with Belmont University, an NCAA Division I member, but did not play there. According to Dan Olson’s nationally known Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, North was also ranked the 36th best player in the nation at her position and 170th overall in the U.S.

A two-time all-state performer and 3-star recruit by ESPN, North averaged 20.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Christopher averaged 16.4 points, 4.4 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game as a senior after scoring 16.9 points a game as a junior along with 4.5 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals. Scoring in double figures in 22 out of 27 games, she twice had career highs of 28 points along with all-time bests of 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Christopher joined the Scott County varsity team as a seventh grader as permitted by Kentucky high school rules and was a member of the state runnerup team in 2010. A two-time selection to the Toyota Classic all-tournament team, she was also named to the Gateway Holiday Class all-tourney team.
