PHOTO: Bridge girder damaged near Turner Diagonal, K-32


KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- A traffic accident damaged a bridge girder on westbound Turner Diagonal to westbound Kansas Highway 32.

More information from the Kansas Department of Transportation:
As of 3:45 p.m. TODAY, Saturday, July 12, westbound Turner Diagonal to westbound K-32 ramp NOW OPEN to unrestricted traffic! Damaged bridge girder has been removed and the ramp reopened to normal traffic operations.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC NOTE: 112-foot of the 136 total foot of guardrail on the left side of the ramp has been damaged due to the traffic incident.

Photo above shows similar guardrail on the right side of the ramp. Concrete barrier has been placed in front of the damaged guardrail for now. KDOT crews will have to determine what necessary repairs or replacement will be needed for the guardrail in this area.
