Silver Alert issued for Lawrence, Kansas man

A "Silver Alert" has been issued for a Lawrence, Kan., man.

More information from the Lawrence Police Department:
On Thursday night, July 31st, at 7:00 PM Deputies at the Douglas County Fair were informed Larry L. Baecht (pronounced Breck) had gone missing while visiting the fair with his son. Larry Baecht is described as a 74 year old white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pound, balding gray hair, and having blue eyes.
Larry was last seen wearing blue overalls, blue and white striped shirt, a “Duck Dynasty” ball cap, a gold colored watch, and eye glasses. The recent photo accompanying this release shows Baecht having a beard. The beard was recently shaved off and his hair cut short.
Larry rides in a “Rascal” type electric scooter device. He is able to walk on his own without the aid of the scooter, but not for long distances without tiring.
The scooter may be able to travel up to 10 miles before requiring recharging. Larry takes several medications and requires multiple medical treatments each week. He is friendly and talkative when approached.
He was last seen near the goat barn at the fair last night. Larry has been entered as a missing person and Deputies have been searching since first reported missing. Anyone having information about Larry’s whereabouts should call Lt. Steve Lewis at 785-424-4361.

This is a little out of our coverage zone, but whenever someone is missing, it's good to get the word out.
