KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- The unemployment rate in Wyandotte County increased one percent from June to July, according to the Kansas Department of Labor.
The unemployment rate for Wyandotte County was 8.8 percent in July, up from 7.8 percent in June 2014.
The seasonally-adjusted rate for the State of Kansas ticked up slightly from 4.8 percent to 4.9 percent.
However, both the State of Kansas and Wyandotte County have lower unemployment rates this year than at this point last year.
The July 2013 unemployment rate for Wyandotte County was 9.2 percent, while the state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.6 percent.
