KCK teen convicted of first degree murder

A Wyandotte County jury has convicted 17-year-old Deaarion Potts of first degree murder.

Potts, of Kansas City, Kan., was also convicted of one count of criminal discharge of a firearm and one count of burglary of an automobile.

Potts was tried as an adult after the Wyandotte County District Attorney's office requested he be tried as an adult.

He was convicted of shooting 17-year-old Ramon Bradley on Oct. 21. The shooting happened at 3rd and Washington in downtown KCK.

Sentencing for Potts is scheduled to take place on October 24, 2014. Wyandotte County Assistant District Attorney Shawn Boyd prosecuted the case.
