KANSAS CITY, KAN. – The Kansas City T-Bones have announced they’ve re-signed catcher Brian Erie to a contract for the 2015 season.

Erie, who’s 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, caught 92 games for the T-Bones in 2014. He hit .236 with career highs in hits (70), RBIs (41), runs (29) and walks (28).

He was one of Kansas City’s best clutch hitters last season. With runners in scoring position and two outs, Erie batted .362 with 22 RBIs in 47 at-bats, which was second on the club.

“Erie was a great two-out, two-strike RBI guy last season,” said T-Bones manager John Massarelli. “On top of that, he established himself as one of the top defensive catchers in the league.”

Erie, 25, who’s originally from Louisville, Ky., spent the first three seasons of his professional career in the Frontier League, including two years with Massarelli in Lake Erie.

In four professional seasons, Erie is a career .260 hitter with 191 hits and 95 RBIs.

The T-Bones open the 2015 regular season at home on May 22 against Lincoln.
