BPU Board of Directors member Terry Eidson dies

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Terry Eidson, a member of the Board of Public Utilities' board of directors, died on Saturday. 

Along with serving on the BPU Board of Directors, Eidson owned "Eidson's Florists and Travel," a local business in Kansas City, Kan.

Eidson owned the business for over 35 years. He attended the University of Kansas and Kansas City Knasas Community College. Before taking over his business, Eidson was an elementary school teacher and served four years in the Kansas National Guard.

He served on a number of community boards in Wyandotte County. He was once on the board of directors of the Wyandotte County Fair and the Kansas City, Kan., Chamber of Commerce.

Terry W. Eidson, 69, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at KC Hospice House.  The Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Trinity Community Church, 5010 Parallel Pkwy., KC, KS.  Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, KC, KS. 
Visitation will be 4:30 to 6:30 PM at Trinity Church on Tuesday, Jan. 13. 
Terry was born Sept. 14, 1945 to Virgil and Pauline (Bowlin) Eidson in Kansas City, KS.  He attended the University of Kansas and married his college sweetheart, Aileen Frisch, Aug. 29, 1970, who he adored along with his two sons, Kirk (Amy) and Ryan (Jennifer) and four grandchildren:  Wyatt, Sierra, Riley and Aubrey.  
Terry and Aileen owned and operated Eidson’s Florists and Travel on Parallel Pkwy.  One of his hobbies was piloting small planes.   He served on several banking boards during his career, as well as volunteering for many civic and community organizations.  At the present time he was serving on the Board of Directors of BPU of Kansas City, KS.  
Terry’s life was that of a giving and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and true friend.   He loved managing and coaching his son’s Little League Teams and later on watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and having them come down to the floral shop interacting in the family business.  
Preceding him in death was his father, Virgil, father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Rolyn and Catherine Frisch and nephew, Jeff Dolinar.  He is survived by his wife, two sons, four grandchildren, mother, Pauline Eidson, and sister, Cheryl (Al) Dolinar.
