KCKCC Wellness & Fitness Center to Host 30 Miles in 30 Days Challenge

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- The Kansas City Kansas Community College Wellness & Fitness Center is starting the new year on the right foot with a 30 miles in 30 days event.

The 30 Miles in 30 Days Challenge starts Jan. 20 and encourages students, staff, faculty and community members to complete at least one mile of cardiovascular activity every day for a month.

That includes walking, jogging, riding a bike or one mile on an elliptical machine.

“We want people to take 21 to 30 days to break old habits and create new habits,” said Pam Hall, with the KCKCC Wellness & Fitness Center. “We want to make it personally challenging, have individuals make a real change and re-pattern their fitness routine.”

Each day will count in the 30 Day Challenge, with the exception of weekends. Saturday and Sunday will not be included.

Upon registering, individuals will be given a Tracking Card, which is what will be turned in at the end of the 30 Miles in 30 Days Challenge to show the activity logged. The event ends March 2.
