Two well-known Bonner Springs leaders to be inducted into Hall of Fame

BONNER SPRINGS, KAN. – The Bonner Springs Education Foundation and the Bonner Springs High School Alumni Association will host the annual Bonner Springs High School Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Feb. 13th, 2015.

The ceremony will honor this year’s recipients between the Women’s and Men’s Basketball Game with Piper at the District Physical Education Center.

The Bonner Springs High School Hall of Fame program began in 2006 and in the past nine years 22 Bonner Springs High School Alumni have been selected for membership.
Nominations for the Hall are made on the basis of :

  • Graduating from Bonner Springs High School 
  • Making a significant contribution to his/her profession or to the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville communities
  • Being a citizen in good standing.
The Foundation is happy to announce Darrell Donahue, Class of 1944, and Jeff Harrington Class of 1979 as the 2015 BSHS Hall of Fame Inductees.

Donahue, a lifelong Bonner Springs resident and entrepreneur, is well known for his commitment to the community at large.

His many contributions include serving on the School Boards of Loring and Bonner Springs/Edwardsville School District, being a Youth Friends Volunteer, and serving in several leadership roles at First Christian Church. Donahue was a founding member of the Bonner Springs – Edwardsville Education Foundation.

Harrington also is a life-long resident of Bonner Springs and is committed to the community he loves. He successfully assists in guiding the Alden – Harrington Funeral Home, serves on the Chamber Board, is a past President of the Foundation Board and is currently the Mayor of Bonner Springs. He is also actively involved with the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church.

The BSHS Alumni Association will hold a pre-ceremony event prior to the Induction Ceremony which will feature memorabilia and yearbooks of Bonner Braves from past decades in the P E Center lobby by the Wall of Fame. The Wall of Fame featuring plaques which honor all BSHS Hall of Fame recipients is located on the Northeast wall of the District P E Center’s lobby area.
