Bishop Ward High School to present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”


KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Prepare to travel back in time to the ancient near east and be wowed by the Bishop Ward High School Drama Club as they present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” by Tim Rice.

Sponsored by drama teacher Ms. Kelly Lipovitz ’00, this high-energy musical will premiere Thursday, March 5, at 7 p.m. through Saturday, March 7 in the Willard L. Phillips Memorial Auditorium.


In this delightful musical parable, the Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life.

The story follows Joseph (played by Senior Richard Cassidy), his father’s favorite son, who is blessed with prophetic dreams. Viewers will follow Joseph as his jealous brothers sell him into slavery where Joseph will go on to Egypt where he will rise and fall, and rise again.

This musical is fun and family friendly, set to an engaging variety of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll.

This Old Testament tale emerges as both timely and timeless. So grab the kids, grab a friend and enjoy Bishop Ward High School’s rendition of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat."
