KANSAS CITY, Kan.— Twin sisters from the metro, Angie Shields Lucchi and Amy Shields both decided to have their ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as well as their breasts when they discovered the mutated breast cancer gene ran in their family.
Both sisters share their story for the same reason as actress Angelina Jolie … to raise awareness so other people are armed with the appropriate information to make tough choices.
